Static Thought
The Motive for Movement

Review by Nick Cottin

If one band out there still cares about the emotion, originality, and integrity of punk music, it's Static Thought. Fast power chords, angry vocals, and catchy songs make their sohpomore album, "The Motive for Movement," hit you in the face. Formed in San Francisco in 2000, Static Thought is reminicent of Minor Threat, The Misfits, and Rancid. With catchy hooks and creative verses, Static Thought entertain throughout every song. Most bands in the punk genre tend to sound the same but not Static Thought. There is obvious progression found in the first track, "Faces," and the other stand-out song, "Ambivalence." Just when I thought music had become bland, Static Thought revived my ears with original music.
