MySpace

One of the newest crazes of this year is a community website: www.myspace.com. Say farewell to Friendster and hello to Myspace! Although Myspace is a place for all sorts of different people to meet, fans of music and musicians alike seem to be drawn to it the most. Myspace, the online scenester community.
Some well known bands such as Yellowcard, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, and countless others all have Myspace accounts. Besides numerous message boards and guestbooks, fans now have another way to contact their favorite bands. Contacting through Myspace, however, seems more personal than the latter. Also, if you're in the mood to find some new music, have no fear, Myspace is chocked full of bands who are trying to make a name for themselves. These bands will gladly add you as a "friend" and send you their purevolume link (maybe more than you'd like).
So whether or not you use the website to post yearbook-like comments on your friend's pages or to get info on some of your favorite bands just remember, "a picture is worth a thousand words." Make sure your Myspace pictures are up to par.
